Good lot of three items signed by Confederate generals, includes: WILLIAM T. MARTIN (1823 - 1910) Confederate major general, served in J.E.B. Stuart's brigade during the Peninsular Campaign, seeing action at the Battle of Williamsburg and the Battle of Seven Pines, as well as Stuart's circumnavigation of the Union army while it stood on the doorsteps of Richmond. Signature ‘Will T. Martin’ in black ink on a 3.5 x 1.75 in. card, adding his rank ‘Maj, Gen. C. S. A.’ Toned, with mounting remnants on the verso, else very good to fine. WITH: JAMES P. MAJOR (1836-1877) Confederate brigadier general, fought Indians with the 2nd Cavalry in Texas prior to the war, served on the staffs of Van Dorn and Twiggs, fought commendably in at Mansfield and Pleasant Hill during the Red River Campaign. Signature ‘J. P. Major’ in black ink on a 3.5 x 2.25 in. card, adding his (incorrect) rank ‘Major Genl. C. S. A. ‘ Toned, with an ink accession and mounting remnants on the verso, else fine. WITH: LUNSFORD L. LOMAX (1835 – 1913) Confederate major general, maintained a close friendship with his West Point classmate Fitzhugh Lee, and served under him as a brigadier in the Overland Campaign. He was then given command of the Valley District, where he supervised intelligence-gathering operations by Mosby's Rangers. Signature ‘L. L.
