(1925 - 2013) first female Prime Minister of Great Britain, serving from 1975-1990. Thatcher was dubbed ‘The Iron Lady’ for her commitment to uncompromising politics and leadership style. An oversize FDC postmarked 1975 and honoring the Churchill Cemetery at Blenheim Palace, Churchill’s ancestral home. Boldly signed and fine. WITH: an oversize commemorative cover, postmarked June 1977, with gilt-embossed scene honoring Queen Elizabeth II and her formal speech ‘Farewell to Hong Kong’, which was delivered by Prince Charles during the handover ceremony on June 30, 1997 to mark the end of 156 years of British colonial rule.
