Philippines Luzon Kalinga Head Axe

Description

Filipino Kalinga headhunters axe from the Luzon island. Used by the headhunters of the Igorot peoples, this axes has a elongated axe head with long spike typical of the Igorot peoples. Highly decorative copper metal overlaid on wood handle. Metal with cross-hatching, banding and diamond designs down the length. Butt of the handle is capped with a decorated bronze tube. Size 21 1/2" L overall, axe head measures 13 7/8" W.
