19th C. Philippines Bicol Minasbad Sword

Description

19th c. Bicol Minasbad with wood sheath. Single edged blade with wide tip and forward sloping blade leading to a chiseled edge design near the hilt. Blades spine nearly 1/2" thick at thickest section. Wood handle carved with ribs grip, pommel in the form of a crude animal carving. Wood scabbard with belt hook and covered with old textile wrap. Size 27" L, blade 18 3/4" L.
