Description

Early 20th Century figure of the Songye People of Zaire. A beautiful figure that has clear age and signs of tribal use. The patina is great, and has really nice character. It has been acetone tested and is a natural patina and not artificially applied. There are metal scarifications on the face. There are repairs on the legs which you might see in the photos. Otherwise its a piece that presents very well. Provenance is from a previous private collection of a dealer in San Francisco.
