Description
11" 1953 "Queen Elizabeth II" doll made by artist Miss Ruth Walker, 96 Winthrope St, Brooklyn, NY. The doll is made from fabric and a type of papier mache. Painted features, mohair wig. The card that comes with it reads: "dress is accurately embroidered as per descriptions and and pictures received from England at the time of the Coronation, June 6, 1953. The crown is also made according to description reveived from England." It took Mis Walker nearly all summer to complete this doll and clothing. Ermine band on cape had to be substituted with white velvet. The detailed beadwork and embroidery on the satin dress is absolutely beautiful. Stand. Condition: age discoloration. This lot is being sold AS IS.
