Lot 0241
19th century short sword, cast brass hilt with turned ribbed grip. Marked at ricasso F. Backe Paris. 28 1/2" overall with 23" blade that is 1 1/8" wide at ricasso. Quillon measures 4 1/4". Leather scabbard is sound with tight stitching, The throat and chape have matching lined designs. The frog stud is oval, and the chape has several small dents. Blade has an even dark patina and some small flea nips on cutting edge. Brass hilt has been cleaned. Very Good
