Description
Museum quality. Rare Saint-Martin statue in hard-plaster hand-made in France, 19th century (the original technique is from Italy, of this hand-made hard-plaster is called "inton", Italian prononciation). It is the same technique as Michelangelo did some of his works during the 15th century. handmade and hand-finished during the 20th century. Saint-Martin is the "Patron Saint of Soldiers". Bishop and Confessor of the city of Tours, south of Paris. Also "Patron Saint of France, geese, innkeepers, infantrymen and vintners". Saint-Martin cut his cloak in two section and gave half of it to a homeless to help him, in the 4th century. He was recognized and honored everywhere the Christ was known. International shipping in wood crate NIMP15 under US Customs Regulations. Available right now from our location in France.
