SHIPPING
I wish that they would do in-house shipping for small items. I really got gouged by the shippers they recommended.

Bad Experience
The shipper they recommended had no clue how to ship the very limited edition, signed serigraphs that I purchased. The pieces were not packaged properly, were jammed into an inappropriate card board box and thus were damaged beyond repair. I ask A & O for help with their shipper PAKMAIL and they did nothing. A $600 work of art was destroyed from packing, not shipping and they did nothing. Never again with either of these companies.

One error after another
I have dealt with 12 different auction houses through Live. Ahlers & Ogletree was the worst by far. Every single step of the process was error-filled and they didn’t seem to care, though I contacted them repeatedly. I am not that hard to please and it’s rare I write a negative review but this is an exception. Wild horses couldn’t drag me to another auction with these people.

This is auction house whom you can trust
Nice people to deal with. I am a new bidder on this site, those people provide good staff and very reasonable price, shipping very fast and nice package. It is very good surprise for me.

Do not use their in house shipping
auction house charged excessive shipping & handling for low quality service, Items were very poorly packed, some damage due to loose pieces bounced around in the box, I guess they never heard of bubblewrap?

Accuracy of descriptions

Damaged Items
Response time was slow, packing and shipping were delayed and items arrived with some damages due to poor packing.

Artwork not accurately described & some on list of shipping companies are overcharging
A couple of the shipping companies Ahlers & Ogletree lists on their website are overcharging for their services. We informed Ahlers & Ogletree about one in particular however weeks later it still appears as a recommended shipper on their website. One of the pieces of artwork we purchased was dry mounted. This should have been indicated under condition since in person it was obvious.

Dear , Thank you for your input. As to the condition of the print in question, we encourage all bidders to request condition reports in advance of bidding. Unless requested, we do not remove works on paper from the frame that do not exceed $1000 in pre-auction estimate-the lots in question were estimated below that level and no condition reports were requested. We do apologize that you received some high shipping quotes from our shippers. We periodically revisit our list of preferred shippers and remove/add as necessary in response to buyer feedback, and in this instance we have elected to remove the shipper in question. I understand that this overall experience for you was a poor one, but I do hope that you will choose to bid again with Ahlers & Ogletree. Professional Personal Honest Service all the way!
I have participated in all this company's auctions since they began several years ago and have always found them to be honest, helpful, efficient and personal in their service to customers as well as consigners. After winning
It seems like their "after auction" terms are rather intimidating and constricting. I used the list of shipping packing vendors and had trouble getting quotation requests returned, not to mention getting fast pick up times. Yet, A & O displays this policy: "Please note that failure to remove property within ten (10) days after the date of the auction will result in the Auctioneer assessing a storage fee of $10 per lot per day and a handling charge of 1.5 % of the hammer price per month. The Auctioneer may, at its discretion, remove property to public storage at the Buyer's risk and expense. All associated charges will be added to the total invoice that must be paid before the property is released." This is certainly not "user friendly" for out-of-state "bidders.

We are always willing to extend extra time, free of charge, when the bidder is in communication with us regarding plans for pick up and/or job quoting.
