Item was damaged and not disclosed in the Auction. It certainly didn't get damaged in shipping. I wouldn't have bought the item if I knew it was damaged, very deceitful. I offered a solution for a partial refund to buy a replacement part. but they declined only offering a full refund If I returned the item knowing full well the cost to ship would be too excessive. the shipping house they use is excessive in fees also. I'll never be back to buy from these folks. And won't recommend them to anyone

Thought the auction was too fast on some items. Fair warning was immediately followed by sold without time to put in a bid. I put in a couple of bids as fast as I could and missed a couple. Bidding was still happening at an active pace. Maybe network lag but thought that should be taken into account with active online bidders. Would be interesting to see time stamps on some of the bidding.

Offered little response to my email indicating a missing piece of a toy. Blamed shipping company for the loss. Poor quality control. Ultimate blame falls on the auction house, not the shipper. No compensation has been offered or follow up reply after first contact. The value of the item was approx $100. A lawsuit would be in order if the value was for a large amount. In short, they were less than professional.

Shipping cost is far too high... should have been about 1/2 of what I paid, based on my experience as an Ebay seller.... g.

To begin with I was totally unaware that my bid had won anything since as of this writing I've never been contacted by Ophers that I had even won anything. My contact with a shipping agent is the only notice I have received, so "NO" I'm not too happy with their service. I was left totally in the dark.

Shipping cost was a little high but I understand it was an outside company. Buyers premium was highest I have ever paid, 23 %. That with shipping was a hefty cost.

Items I won (14) were all great and better than pictured. Not real happy with buyers premium with any of the current auctions. Auction house is charging the actual estate/seller and also the buyer. 10 percent was the industry standard if it was charged at all and now it is 20 percent or more. Add that to what the Auction House is charging the seller and it comes out to around 50 % or more per item. As a buyer, I deem that to be very unfair to both buyers and actual sellers. Just my feelings.

UPS Store gave what I thought was a high price for shipping and that is why I never use the UPS Store. After I argued with them, they lower the shipping by almost $75. Whenever I ship UPS, I always go directly to them and not one of their stores.

Auction house listed oil painting condition as "Excellent" without further comment. When arrived, I found varnish was very yellowed requiring me to take to conservator.

Auctions run a bit to fast for internet reaction time, and dealing with and paying a separate shipper is an additional hassle that was too expensive, but very fast and exceptionally well packed.

Item I purchased had only one photo & did not show significant damage to the item. I did not complain or contact them since I don't want the hassle. I will have to do repairs to the item myself which I did not anticipate when I bid on it.

I sent a check the day after I won the auction noting my invoice number and the Lot number of my item. Never heard from R. Opfer, so after a week I phoned and spoke to someone at R Opfer who said they had received my check 3 days prior. The person at R. Opfer gave me two shipping choices. I verbally selected a shipper. Was told that the shipper would be called to pick up my items and that I would be contacted by the shipper. That was a week ago! Still no communication. IMO, IT IS A GIANT PAIN IN THE REAR END TO HAVE TO REPEATEDLY CALL TO MICROMANAGE THIS SALE AND SHIPPING!!

Auction house not open on weekend made pick-up extremely difficult. Ultimately, Mr. Opfer tried to work with us and that was appreciated but he was annoyed and we were exhausted (our rented truck had broken down for our first week-day attempt at pick-up). spending hours on the side of a highway isn't our idea of a good time, especially when you've taken a day off of work to pick up a $6k + piece of furniture because the place isn't open on weekends. Anyway, after that experience I am hesitant to deal with this auction house again. I will never forget how smug he was and how apparent Mr. Opfer made his annoyance with us despite what we had been through to work around his inconvenient hours for pick-up.
