I have purchased several items from Rachel Davis Fine Arts. In each case, everyone I have spoken to and worked with has been kind, knowledgeable and efficient. This time I needed an outside shipper for my item, and the person they recommended (John) was excellent-reasonable rates, very quick delivery. Thank you Rachel Davis Fine Arts!

Paid 30.00 to ship what should have cost less than ten dollars. 3 3/4” tall vase weighing less than 1/16 th of a lb. Should not cost 30.00 to ship. Between the buyers premium and the fees your final bid amount looks nothing like your final cost, after everyone gets done adding fees and premiums. It’s really getting out of hand with all the auction houses, not just this one. I even was charged a fee just to process my payment. Otherwise, a good transaction. Liked the item. Well described and staff is responsive. Thank you.

Wonderful auction house to work with!

Art prints are set in folders instead of frames, which allows for a clear assessment of the condition and more economical shipping. In-house shipping offers expert and carefully packaging and very reasonable cost. Great experience all around.

Rachel Davis Fine Arts was very responsive and friendly when I had a couple questions. A small and minor area of damage was included in the photo, however I wish that it was pointed out more obviously and may have been better to specifically mention it in the item description as is a generally accepted practice when selling art with imperfections/damage, however slight. That said, I absolutely would buy from them again. Their packing was truly amazing ….. it literally must have been packed by someone with extreme OCD (G-d bless em!). Such beautiful precision and protection ….. and I was charged a very reasonable packing and shipping rate for that attention to detail. World class!

Overall, I was happy with the auction. Item arrived in as described condition. My issue was, they don't offer in house shipping on everything. The item I bought wasn't all that large. They basically give you a list of companies to contact for a shipping quote. After several attempts, I found a shipper. They were friendly and accommodating but certainly not a bargain. Shipping cost was more than 50 % of the items initial cost. They are fair and easy to deal with, just wish they would identity which items are shipped in house.

I have nothing but good to say about my experience. Most impressive was the quality of packaging of the art lithograph I won. For a mere $35, I received a piece that was packaged to the most safe and professional standards and shipped to me in a swift manner.

Purchased a print for $275 (which came to about $430 with all markup fees). Received the print to discover that it had been glued to a cardboard backing. Description was as follows: Koitsu Tsuchiya (Japanese 1 **********)-Benkei Bridge (Benkeibashi)-woodblock in color, 1933, from series 'Views of Tokyo', published by Doi Sadakazu, laid down. 14 1/4 x 9 3/8 ' I understood "laid down" to mean that it'd merely framed in cardboard and figured that the nonspecific language would warrant a refund. Sent a request for a refund due to insufficient product description with no response. Sent a second request and later received an email denying the request noting that it had been correctly described and that I was neglectful ?!) in reading the product description. Response is as follows: "We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed; however, our catalog description for this lot clearly states" laid down "which means that the print is completely adhered to its bottom matting. We have noticed of this condition issue at the time of cataloging, so we fully disclosed it in all listing of the lot description. We cannot be responsible, beyond fully disclosing this information, for any bidder's neglect to read all description and to request clarification and additional information; therefore, your request for return & refund is declined at this time." If you have to explain what your description means, your description isn't clear. Recommend avoiding this dealer.
