My first overseas auction and it’s was perfect from start to finish. Questions answered promptly, shipping fast, items packed very well, detailed descriptions, items as pictured, even nicer! I plan on them being my only overseas auction I will buy from. They are wonderful to deal with, have what I need and I’m very happy with how everything is managed from start to finish. This was my 2nd auction. After I won my items from two different auctions and received my invoices, I asked if the shipping could be combined. They did so and I was happy. My items came very fast and arrived safe and sound. I’m looking forward to their next auction.

My first time bidding internationally and the whole process went better than I expected. They shipped in house which made it much easier. I received my items extremely fast, maybe a week from Germany to Seattle area. My only wish is I had wanted to win more items, but was competing with live in person bidders that don’t have to pay for shipping and probably a much lower buyers premium. But that’s the cases with all of the auctions on live auctioneers. Also, I had asked several questions prior to the auction end and received timely answers. I’m anxiously waiting for their next auction for more treasures to bid on... I love that they take PayPal as well.

Very pleased with item. I was not told there would be Homeland Security forms to fill out and fax. Plus additional charge from FedEx for handling.

The auction was Sept 26. I paid immediately but did not receive items until Nov 2. Their responses-when I got them-were all the same stock answer. They finally sent the tracking # Nov 3 a day after I recieved the package. The small glass doll house accessories were packed all together in a diaper thrown in with other heavier things. Lots of bent metal and broken chairs. I have collected for many years and purchase a lot through auctions. This auction house is very difficult to deal with and I cannot recommend them.

Very good experience. Was a bit concerned dealing with foreign business and with no experience in bidding type of transaction. My item came before I expected and I will try with this company again I am sure. I wish the auction website had a way to track payment and shipping.

If you want sell online, the costumer needs a very good description and photos. But this auctioneer is really not careful with description. Even he marks objects with wrong description. I am very frustrated. You have so much bad circumstances and costs to get back the items which were wrong. Nearly In each lot I bought was something wrong.

Overall a good experience. My invoice still says pending even though I paid it and have received my items. That bothers me because I am concerned it looks bad on my record. Additionally, one of my dolls had very, very loose stringing. I was able to restring her and she is good as new. They had plenty of great dolls and I would bid again. Just note that there is a fee to use PayPal and the euro conversion rate makes the total considerable more.

I have purchased from Ladenburger Spielzeugauktion at least 4 times and the experience has always been perfect. It certainly helps when an auction house offers In-House shipping. Really always a great experience.

Good auction house, but just confirm shipping costs from Europe to the USA BEFORE bidding. I was hit with a 58 Euro shipping cost for a rather small box. Even in COVID-19 times this is excessive. Make sure to ask any questions to clear up any doubts you might have about the lot (s) prior to bidding. Sometimes the translations of descriptions from German to English can lead to misunderstandings. Other than the excessive shipping cost and a small misinterpretation of an item's description, the auction experience was good.

The auction house is one of the best in Europe, in the last auction I had some delays on shipping I understand they had lot items, they spoiled me, since shipping arrival very fast.

To be fair, this was the first time I’ve won anything with this auction house. When you pay, just know that you’ll pay for the item, the auction premium, an insane amount for shipping and you’ll pay VAT (European tax) on top of the shipping. The auction house was fairly clear about these terms but what they don’t tell you anywhere on their site is that if you use PayPal (they only accept cash, wire transfer or PayPal), you’ll also pay 3 % of the entire purchase for PayPal fees. Yup-you will pay the fees to pay for the item. This specifically should be spelled out. And don’t bother e-mailing them for an exact dollar amount because they either A. Won’t get back to you, or B. Won’t answer the question. It took them almost 2 weeks to explain why my shipping to the US was 66 euro and not the quoted 50 euro (VAT). Also-why am I paying tax charged in Germany-I have no idea. No other auction or business I’ve purchased from previously charges this. So my 700 euro purchase cost me close to $1100 US. This auction house was unresponsive, not super friendly and it was a frustrating experience. On the other hand, the shipping time (when they finally did drop it off to FedEx) was quick. Surprisingly, my $1100 package, that was stated to require a signature, and have insurance, was left on my doorstep-no signature required. This was a new experience because every package I’ve received from Europe has required a signature. Every. Single. One. So if they just tossed it in the mail, no signature or insurance, why was shipping so expensive? Anyhow, the Steiff was cute, it isn’t worth what I ultimately had to pay for it, and my experience with this auction house was disappointing.

I was scared to bid on an overseas auction. But!!! I was so very pleasantly When I won auctions with Ladenburger I was so Surprised how quickly my items arrived, and how professionally packaged My items were. Two big thumbs up for this vunderbar auction company! I can’t wait to bid With you again!! Danka!

The DOLL is wonderful and true to the description. The process from payment to shipping was difficult. Unknown fees, partially in the form of taxes for crossing borders, etc, were levied, making the final purchase price far higher than anticipated-and, prior to bidding I had reviewed the fee schedule and completed the homework! In addition, the item was withheld by customs, as it was claimed that the item was "unknown", the description not being as complete as required. The auction house and I provided the agency with a more complete description and the package was finally shipped to me. The doll was well-packed and intact-and is lovely. But, the process was far more difficult and tiresome-and the ultimate cost-higher than expected.
