I buy from this auction in Germany and have never had a problem receiving the items that I won to my home here in America. There shipping is very good and they sell great merchandise.

This was my first time buying from them and, overall, I am a very, very satisfied customer. The items were exactly as described, beautifully packed and shipped surprisingly quickly. I was a little intimidated about bidding on an auction out of the country and there was a learning curve involved, but I will be back.

Where do I start? I bought from them in the past with no problems. However, the last couple of auctions were a nightmare. Live Auctioneers intervened for me to get my items, but it is obvious they plan to do nothing to these people. I tried using PayPal as was suggested as a payment option on their invoices. You can NOT use PayPal with them anymore. You have to go down to the bank and get a bank wire. Much easier for them to tell you you owe them $60 more which they did to me TWICE. Right as LA was watching. They threatened me with an attorney if I did not give them more money. I had to send copies of the wires and my bank statements to prove I sent them the correct amount. My banker said he suspected fraud. I called PayPal to ask them why they my money could not be sent. They told me it was too risky, and they would not do it. I told LA they should tell them not to put PayPal as an option on their invoices. LA said, "Duly noted, but that is up to them to figure what the problem was." This started when a doll I had pre-bidded on was shown as "Lot Passed." How could this be? Ladenberger told me that the owner had withdrawn the item. Very funny thing. I found that very item on eBay soon after. It WAS purchased by someone here in the states for $60.00. She told me they sent her the wrong item before and that she had also had problems with them that she did not discuss. She said she would never bid with them again. Another thing they did was promise me I could purchase an item that did not sell in the first auction. Then, when I did not see the item on the invoice, I asked where it was. They said they sold it to someone else. I have all the emails with them and gave them to LA. After months of this back and forth, it turns out they did NOT sell that item and let me pay for it. Only, they wanted more than what I sent them which was the correct amount. Plus, two items were damaged. Ugh!

Great Auctions, great service

I wrote innumerable emails, actually called internationally, I still have not been marked paid on live auctioneers it made me very uncomfortable but received items and I am pleased outside of these communication issues

I love this auction house, and their July Steiff sale is one of the buying highlights of the year for me as a collector. However, I was sent a bill for my items, and paid EXACTLY what was requested, including the additional 3 % for the Paypal fees. They came back to me, saying I owed a bit more, as the fees to the USA were higher. This was not noted ANYWHERE in writing on the contract or in any email, and I felt I was really being nickled and dimed as a good customer. I wrote and expressed my concerns, and they got right back to me. They would not remove the additional fees, and said that I would have to pay them, but they said they would send me a free catalog to make up for all of this. So customers from the USA that pay via PayPal-just a heads up that your bill just might be a little higher than you thought!
