I would love to see Hindman institute in-house shipping.

Please get into the 21st Century and accept credit card payments. Demanding checks delays the entire process needlessly. The lack of in-house shipping is a pain as well. Not impressed.

I have bought from Hindman without problems in the Best.. no issues with the items purchased... But never received so bad and rude after Auction service

The inability to preview some furniture and decorative arts auctions, coupled with an overworked and undertrained cataloging staff makes purchasing decisions difficult. Fortunately they are good about returns of miscataloged items. Also, their photography is not up to industry standards. The catalog shots are very attractive, but never show critical structural points or damage to the goods. If I were paying to have my purchases shipped across the country, I'd be very wary upon receiving my purchases, and then needing to repack and return goods. Also, needing to make pick-ups at the main facility and then their warehouse is a pain. An intercom or buzzer at the warehouse would be a nice feature.

Contrary to most auction houses, Hindman does not take credit cards. Thus the time to complete the winning bidder process, is increased many fold. I will probably not rebid with them. I am small potatoes, so I probably won't be missed.

I have participated in several Hindman Auctions and have found them easy to work with in all aspects of bidding, payments and quality. Highly recommend this firm.

If you are not familiar with shippers they list, expect to be completely ripped off and don’t expect to receive email replies from Hindmans.

Most important: my item was in Chicago; I am in Dayton; when I asked if they could shuttle my item to Cincinnati so I could pick up... they were on it immediately and the entire process was streamlined. Great flexibility on the company's part!

Hindman was phenomenal in communicating with me throughout the bidding, purchasing, and shipping process. They provided the names of many shippers in Chicago and I chose the UPS 3571 Store that wrapped my 25 books better than any company I have every used. It was just fantastic. Books were described modestly and the condition was actually a little better than I had expected. They were very easy to deal with.

I am loosing interest in online auctions due to the simple fact not many houses provide in house shipping, which complicates and delays the delivery. In the future, I will be buying only with auction houses who handle shipping themselves.

Always presents clear photos and is responsive to questions. A great network of shippers helps since they have several locations.

In the last auction I participated in and won multiple items. Many items were not very accurately or completely described. Nor were there sufficient photographs to accompany the descriptions. Some items did not match the descriptions at all. Contacting the auctioneer with questions were not always met with timely responses. (However some of my correspondence was admittedly last minute.) Seems that some items being auctioned need to be referred to better subject matter specialists rather than just guessing or winging it. Upon completion of the auction there was good communications with the auctioneer. All in all I am satisfied with the outcome and will participate in future Hindman auctions. Thanks.

I had to contact the auction house with a question. The staff was extremely helpful and made certain that everything was in place to expedite the shipment of my items.

There was a problem with the product description. When it arrived, the damaged and repaired part was removed. There were about 6 other parts that were bonded together, and they immediately fell apart with the solvent. The product description was written that there was no problem with the cup and saucer, but it was a deceiving feeling. Although it was a repair that would be obvious if you looked at it, it was a false explanation.
