Quality items
This auctioneer has beautiful quality items. I am very happy with the items I bid on/won. My only criticism is you have to make your own shipping arrangements, even for small things like pins and pendants. If they would handle shipping for small items that would make them top notch!

They are great Auctioneers. Items are displayed and described properly. My only complaint is that they don’t accept credit cards for items under $500. It is anoying that I had to ask the shipper to pay and pickup my items. Other than that it was a seemless experience.

I buy from so many auction houses. I literally do not have time to ask for a condition report on every item. As a major house they need to provide photos and list when porcelain has damage and or show photos. I have come close to buying several times tomthen read in a condition report major damage or cracks. They are one of the worst in my experience. A lot times I would bid when I follow an auction and prices are on the low side but then I cannot get a condition report.

The shipper: Guy Pavlik Navis Pack & Ship IL1101 777 Joyce Rd. Unit-D Joliet, IL 60436 USA overcharged me, the shipping price $100., packed items in a used box, charged 4 % for use of credit card when the only type of payment accepted was a credit card, and increased quoted price without asking me. They sent it Fedex ground, not in a FedEx box. The weight was less than a pound, and I looked up rates; even from the farthest zone, the most it would cost is $11. So there were used packing materials, and I am sure the insurance didn't cost $90. I am really infuriated. Caroline

Paying for the item was a nightmare. Having an electronic payment system is a much more efficient process. The auction house does not make arrangements to ship your item. You are provided a list of outside shipping services and the customer needs to make the arrangements. I would have never purchased the item if I knew how difficult it was going to be to pay for it and them have to get it shipped to me on my own. I will never buy another item from Leslie Hindman Auctioneer unless they update their processes.

I thought the shipping fee was very high. Not the auctioneer's fault, but I wouldn't use them again.

I was very unhappy about the 'No Preview' before the 'On Line Fine Jewelry Sale' February 7, 2019. I had to set up a 'Private Appointment' to view over 700 items. It took over 3 hrs. to open each sealed bag. I will NEVER do that again! I refuse to bid on items unseen. I hope LH goes back to their previous format to preview Any & All Jewelry Sales.

I'm never bidding on an item from Leslie Hindman now that I know the paying/shipping process better. They are clearly set up for more experienced bidders/auction houses because the whole process is so (threateningly) time sensitive-your check MUST arrive within 7 days (when it's already been 1 day waiting for the invoice) and then there's the weekend...-and if you don't have the item picked up by X date (also tight, given that when you finally get confirmation that your check arrived, you have to call to arrange for pick up and shipping immediately and even then, if the pick up can't happen for a few days (as in my case, with their suggested shipping-who was wonderful), you are to be charged $5 a day for "storage"? Thankfully, I wasn't charged for shipment-at least I haven't received a bill yet. But before this whole process began, I tried calling them... They do not pick up. Too frustrating.
