Did not receive invoice so I called. The invoice was quickly forwarded. I would prefer a button to take you to a secure site for payment rather than calling in my credit information.

The auction house did their job very well. My problem was with liveauctioneers. The explanation for my being shut out of live bidding from Susanin's was unsatisfactory. I will never bid through liveauctioneers again.

I really do not like the fact that I have to give credit card info in advance of the auction. It is time consuming and irritating. Almost no else requires this. In addition, most of the items are not that expensive. I buy more expensive items on ebay without the hassle. In addition, I really don't want someone I don't know having my info on file so that one of their employees can steal my identity or ruin my credit.

I don't like Live Auctioneers because they won tell you I have been outbid. Other auction websites email me and tell me when I have been outbid giving me the option of raising my bid. Thanks Danny

Shipping is NOT done inhouse! Local service companies (UPSstore merged with MBE and others) significantly overcharge on international shipping using less expensive non-UPS carriers like USPS which makes purchasing lower priced items an unpleasant experience. Note-this comment does not apply to any other charges like pickup or packaging (but offering "free pickup" while tripling the USPS shipping rate is not helpful). BTW this problem is not unique, it's a local problem also seen eg in San Francisco and elsewhere. On other places-with some luck-you may find a small shop charging reasonable prices when using USPS. As a result future purchases & spending will consider the disproportional shipping cost (don't bid in Chicago).

For foreign bidders: please more pictures, also of the back of the painting! And if possible a condition report. Cannot answer the first question: item has not arrived yet (fault of UPS)

Excellent auction house to do business with. Unfortunate that shipping options they recommend are extremely high priced for the services offered. Much cheaper to drive 240 miles round trip to pick item up.

A few of the items showed up damaged. (The Large Dolls head was caved in/smashed like someone dropped it) Though I do believe it either happened with people looking/messing with them during the auction. OR the shipping company was VERY rough with the items. Who knows. Guessing I'll not bid with them again.

unfortunately, fedex must have dropped the box. the box was rattling when it was being carried up to my front door. i could hear it as it was being brought to the door. i opened a claim with fedex.. their fault apparently. i believe it was packaged ok. happens with fedex sometimes.
