Description
A 19th century French bronze sculpture in rich brown patina beautifully sculpted after Michael Claude Clodion (French, 1738-1814), "Bacchantes and Satyr". It depicts two dancing young women in the company of a child satyr: one woman is holding the tambourine, and the other holding grapes. Nice forms and exceptional detail. Signed on bottom of the base "Clodion" and numbered 1362. In very good near original condition. It show minimal age and use-related wear, and minor patina oxidation. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Dates: 19th Century, 1860 -1890. Limited Edition: Uknown. Paperwork: No. Signature: On Base "Clodion". Title: "Bacchantes and Satyr". Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 20" x 11" x 10".
