Description: Single sheet. Map on verso of Golden Gate Park to the Bay Bridge. 8½x11", printed in brown. Vignettes on the map of the area are geared toward visiting sailors as Schneider was then serving in the Navy. One humorously depicts a convict in prison garb on Alcatraz, holding a sign which reads: "The Four Freedoms".
Schneider was a movie and stage set designer for Western Scenic Studios of Oakland, the largest supplier of theatrical equipment on the West Coast. He is credited with designing the performing arts Cavalcade at the Treasure Island Golden Gate International Exposition, a Navy warplane exhibition and the stage setting for the 1949 film Tucson. He is best known to collectors of cartography for his 1930s color map of Bohemian Grove printed as a throwaway advertising leaflet for a clothing store.
