A Robert Frost signed page with a poem printed after the fact below, n.p., n.d. Signed "Robert Frost" at the upper center of the page. At a later date, Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken" was printed beneath his signature. Faint toning to the upper edge. A faint stain runs through "Robert" in Frost's signature. Boldly signed. Very good overall. 1p, measuring 5" x 7". Excellent for display.

Robert Frost (1874-1963) was a beloved American poet, known for his depictions of realistic rural life and for using complex social and philosophical themes. "The Road Not Taken" was first published in the August 1915 issue of the "Atlantic Monthly" and muses over having to make a decision when coming to a fork in the road. The poem was inspired by a walk taken with Frost's close friend Edward Thomas, where the pair did indeed come to a fork in the road. In 1915, Frost sent an advanced copy of "The Road Not Taken" to Thomas as a gentle mocking of indecision. However, Thomas was deeply affected by it, and it is believed that the poem was influential in Thomas' decision to enlist in the First World War. Thomas sadly would be killed two years later at the Battle of Arras.
