.58 caliber smoothbore. 29.125" barrel. NSN. Heavily oxidized metal, brass furniture, walnut stock. Single shot muzzleloading percussion rifle musket altered to shotgun with shortened barrel that has been smoothbore, shortened stock to the first barrel band, no sights, no sling swivels and no ramrod. Lock marked 1862/TOWER, standard Birmingham commercial proof and view marks on breech. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Poor to Fair. Bore dark and rusty with no rifling. Metal heavily oxidized with scattered pitting. Markings on lock legible. Barrel shortened, stock shortened, missing sights, swivels and all furniture forward of the rear barrel band. Mechanically functional lock with no percussion nipple in the bolster. Wood well worn, sanded, and with scattered bumps, dings and mars.
