.69 caliber. 42" barrel secured by three flat, spring retained bands. NSN. Bright finish, iron furniture, walnut stock with recessed cheek rest. Single shot percussion alteration of a flintlock smoothbore muzzleloading musket with a large, crude brazed bolster, a crudely checkered percussion alteration hammer, no sights, sling swivels and a trumpet head ramrod. Lock marked B EVANS over PHILA. Includes a US M1816 pattern socket bayonet that fits. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Fair to Good. Bore dark and dirty with moderate oxidation. Metal moderately oxidized with a mottled gray patina with scattered light to moderate pitting over all. Markings in metal remain mostly legible, none in wood. Lock needs mechanical attention to function correctly. Side plate missing, lock screws are modern replacements. Wood is well worn with a significant peg reinforced repair at the wrist, wood loss around the tang. Wood sanded with numerous bumps, dings and mars.
