.50RF. 22.25" barrel. SN: 23353. No finish remaining, iron furniture, walnut stock without forend. Single shot breechloading cartridge carbine with military L leaf rear sight, fixed front sight and sling bar with ring. Standard Gallager markings. While these guns were delivered too late for Civil War use a small number did see use during the early part of the Indian Wars with many more being resold by vendors like Schuyler, Hartley & Graham to the French for use during the Franco-Prussian War. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Fair to Good. Bore poor to fair, with pitting and oxidation and visible rifling. Metal moderately oxidized with some scattered pitting. Markings on lock remain legible. Mechanically functional action. Wood well worn, sanded and showing numerous bumps, dings and mars.
