(‘Hawkins' Zouaves') and played an important part in the capture of Hatteras Inlet, Roanoke and Winton, but frequently clashed with his superiors and was almost arrested for insubordination. A.L.S, 1p. 8vo., ‘Friday’, [n.d. but docketed 1911 at bottom], to a customs brokerage firm, in part: ‘...Inclosed is cheque and bills and not inclosed, my thanks for your official attention and reasonable charges...’ Shows folds, with a mounting remnant to the verso at the upper right corner, else very good.
