Southeast Asia, Burma, 19th century CE. Made of gilded and painted wood, this platform has an ornate form, with a flat panel, painted red, atop a gilded plinth; attached to that is an elaborately carved piece of wood that functions as a backdrop. This is heavily gilded, with a form suggesting three framed doorways with spires above each. Size: 6.95" L x 23.5" W x 18.75" H (17.7 cm x 59.7 cm x 47.6 cm)
