Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A whimsical ceramic vessel in the shape of a broad-bodied fish with a human-like face, relief gills and mouth, and a projecting tail fin. A tall, conical spout projects from the top of the fish's head; a curving, flattened strap handle is attached at the center of the spout and on the shoulder. Size: 7.65" W x 8.5" H (19.4 cm x 21.6 cm)
