Contacted shipper several times, email and phone-no response. Contacted Westport to make sure items had been picked up. They were picked up but again shipper did not contact me. I do a lot of auctions and use various shippers. Generally the shipper will respond in a timely manner. Will see what the cost and how well they pack items and timelyness in sending.

the photo of the chair that i bid on did not show that the screws were visible from the front of the item... not sure that i would have bid on this if i had known/seen this important detail/repair/flaw

1: The auction house is very dishonest, For defective, damage and repaired items, they do not say, let us buy by a high price 2: I bought a lot of these defective items, I lost a lot of money 3: I recently purchased an item from the company (Sofe Design Auctions), It is lot87A, This vase has clear as daylight, hairline and repair, But they did not say (please note: I deliberately wrote an e-mail to ask auction companies) They are naked fraud, I hope you let them to agree return items! 4: postage of some companies are very expensive! 5: These problems are very common, All my friends have met these problems, Therefore, in order to your site can be healthy development, Please pay attention to these problems, thank you very much!!

Nothing that comes to mind except that I would probably buy from Westport again if the items I deal in... Civil War, early Militaria ephemera show up in their auctions.

I buy and sell fountain pens on line, and have to depend on the seller's photos and description to assess value. Westport's auction of 12/12/2016 lot 246 was one of the most miss leading items that I bid and won. The photos showed a Waterman case with a gold overlay pen set in it. But the set in it was a Morrison set. Next a Montblanc case with a pen set in it, but the pen set was a Waterman's. Next a Parker box with a damaged Wahl pen in it. Shipping was done by Don Curtis's store # 0129 and three weeks later and two phone call. I received the pens at my Champlain shipping address. James

The clock was missing its bell and fastening nut. While one photo did show the area where the bell would have been, it would be better to include a note about this in the description. The key that was shown with the lot was not passed to my shipper. I inquired but have not heard back so I presumed it was lost. This shouldn't happen but luckily I know how to obtain a replacement.

Their policy of charging 10 dollars a day if items aren't picked up in two weeks is excessive compared to other auction houses. We use several shippers but sometimes they may not be in the area within the two week time frame. It is definitely a factor in buying anything from Westport that cannot be shipped UPS. It's better to pass.
