The staff were very helpful with and responsive to the few questions I asked. The item that I purchased is absolutely stunning and appears exactly as advertised.

Great items as described, shipping was very straightforward and well done through Bob at Global Postal.

Overall favorable experience, first time with Hindman. Shipping information was a little confusing. Original auction post said buyer was responsible for shipping and to contact a shipper, yet my winning bid invoice showed a shipping and handling fee. Could be a little more specific about each different auction and shipping to avoid buyers contacting shippers prematurely. Could use a few more photos and details on the item description as well. Overall, satisfied and would do business with Hindman again.

I found my experience with Hindman and the person with whom I spoke in their Chicago office re: shipping, was most responsive. Overall, I would certainly participate in another auction through Hindman provided I was interested in the offering.

Excellent items and courteous staff responses coupled with high cost process-nationally high buyers premium + 3-rd party fee + fee for card-yield mixed experience. Their inability to absorb any add-on as part of the cost of doing business makes all the add-ons feel like booking a flight on Hindman Airlines.

One person in particular went far beyond the call of duty in helping me to inspect the items of interest. Annie Wu took time out of her schedule to be of very kind and informed assistance. I assume that she is not alone and that a culture of gentle and knowledgeable helpers exists throughout the company.

Gorgeous earrings and the final price after buyer's premium was basically less than scrap/component value. Incredible value.

I won two lots at one of their auctions: A Louis XV style table, and a Napoleon III Secretaire. I based my bids on the accuracy of the photographs, and the condition reports. The table was described as being in ... overall good stable condition... few old scuffs, marks, or scratches..." When the table arrived, the legs were completely loose, and needed reglueing; there was an old repair in the kingwood veneered tabletop consisting of a very obvious piece of mahogany; the kingwood veneer along the aprons were chipped, loose, with some losses; and the lock was broken. Very far removed from its condition description. The secretarie didn't have a condition report, so I based my assessment on the photographs. Let me just say that the left side of the secretarie wasn't photographed for a good reason, as that side had been damaged, and very poorly repaired. There was significant veneer damage to most parts of the cabinet, with major losses to the crown, and base. There was a large area of damage to the base with a portion of the carcass missing, along with its corresponding veneer. The secretaire's fall front door was structurally damaged, extending through to the surface, making it functionally useless until repaired. The only portion of the secretarie not damaged was the marble top; that's a first. I'm fortunate that a restore antiques professionally, otherwise that would be a sizeable investment out the window. However, I based the limit of my bids upon the accuracy of the condition descriptions, and the photographs. In my instance, neither lot was described accurately, and both were photographed in such a manner as to minimize the impression of losses/damage. Both are now restored to mint condition; however, it wasn't a labour of love, as the time taken to repair these two was significant, and cost me dearly. Unfortunately for Hindman, I will not be returning.

Watch out for some of the shippers from their FL auctions. Both I dealt with were flakey.

I bid on an auction item through Hindman using LiveActioneers. I was informed I was outbid and indeed watched the live-bid showing I had been outbid. However, then I received an email stating I had won. Contact with Hindman was excellent and they indicated it must have been a problem with LiveAuctioneers, despite me seeing a bid higher than mine live. Anyway, I was the winner, they accepted my payment and shipped my small piece of furniture incredibly packed in bubblewrap, peanuts, and very heavy cardboard box. The tracking provided was absolutely accurate. Hindman was fantastic.

I picked up my mirror at the auction showroom. Personnel there were very helpful and even helped me load onto the truck. I was there and departed within a few minutes.
