I was a first time buyer via the internet. I was a little nervous about who would be the shipper of the item I purchased. I made one telephone call to the auction house of which the lady was very nice in her explanation to my question. The shipper UPS did a poor job in packing the item. The item was a figural candelabrum that sustained more damage by the time I received it. Other than that I experienced no problem. It all went smooth.

Doesn't organise shipping.

I have purchased several nice things at dumouchelles auction. Im extremely pleased with all of them. And very happy with the price I paid. I will continue the o use their auctions to furnish my new house

I have purchased from DuMouchelles for over 35 years. They are true professionals.

I purchased a coin that was supposed to be MS65, but when I sent it in for grading they said the coin was artificially toned.

An item that I bid on was not as shown. The box was described as being h4 "w13 l19" Turns out the box is 19 "h 13" w 24 "L The cost to ship was $99 because the box was huge and the shipper had to charge 4x the normal charge due to the size. I didn't bid on a box that big but I had already paid the shipping cost so I had to accept it as is. Not happy but I'm not paying $99 to ship it back. So what could I do? Complain what for.

I'm tired of saying this but I will repeat it again: for international buyers your action shippers are always extremely expensive. Even they charge the picking and the packing for sometimes an stupid and fast job that take few minutes to do it. The thing I want to claim is that they are not honest at all, most of them. Too many times I couldn't be able to bid for objects just because I know they want to Scam me overcharching me shipping costs that are absolutely irreal. It could be nice if you could work for all USA auctions with USPS and knowing the REAL shipping costs for approximate sizes and weights. Thank you

I put in an absentee bid on liveauctioneers. Your site said the item was "passed", but I was later charged more than DuMouchelle's lower auction estimate for the lamps, but less than my maximum bid. I questioned them by phone and received a nonsensical explanation. I condsidered contacting paypal regarding this matter, but I wanted the lamps and the amount wasn't worth the fight. HOWEVER, I have, in the past, purchased items in the four figures from DuMouchelle's (in person, as I live in Detroit), I doubt I'd ever bid on an item on the Internet again, and will reconsider ever buying from this auction house again. I am not alone in my dislike of DuMouchelles. They have been going "downhill" recently.

Your rule of involving yourselves with the sales relations between buyers and the auctions is Terrible! Allowing buyers to be not approved without proper way investigation. You are a a facilitator not a judge.

Fantastic and very customer friendly place.

The UPS store listed first as a shipping option was a disaster. It has taken 2 weeks and numerous phone calls to the location to get my shipments coordinated. Still waiting on the second shipment. This is not a criticism of DuMouchelles in any way.... however, would recommend they be informed of the situation..... and they in turn recommend other shipping options.

was out-bid on item, yet was declared the winning bid. my opinion dumouchelles uses schill bidding.

I was a newby in this house. For me more difficult to organise the item shipping. Most of auction houses hekping to send the items, not only alist of forvarder companies. This is one more connection and more expense.

The auction house is wonderful. The only part of the process I'm not overly thrilled with is payment, having to pay you through pay pal or whatever instead of just paying the auction house when I pick up the item. But otherwise, love it

There are two things that LiveAuctioneers could do to VASTLY improve your presence on the Internet. First, there should be a mechanism to file a dispute on line with auctioneers. Currently, only auctioneers can file a dispute on customers (which is widely circulated throughout your network). This should be the same way with Auctioneers that fail to keep the bargain. Second, shipping has become a "racket." The prices paid to UPS and others are EXCESSIVE. Auctioneers should gather into a cooperative shipping agreement with UPS to save money. This may be the most important thing that you ever do to promote the value of the purchases that you seek.

1. refused to tell me the WEIGHT of the item, so unable to get shipping estimate, said shippers had catalogue. but weight is not given in catalogue, said their shippers don't need weight to give estimate-not believable so I went online and got likely weight & dimension info, elsewhere-sheesh 2. not comfortable with pickup process-not explained-closest shipper 15 minutes away-was item packed at all for secure pickup?, [ 2 days later ] where is item-was item picked up? is there a receipt? no answer

Shipper was slow to respond.......

1 over-size pic misleading: would've helped to see ring on hand to gauge scale/size 2 provide in-house packing and FedEx please for small international parcels
