Incomplete and misleading condition rpt
I've bought a number of items from Kamelot and have been generally satisfied with both the items as presented and customer service. However this purchase was an exception. The catalogue photos did not add anything to the minimal description, so I asked for a condition rpt and got "Structurally sound and in good condition". The auction house failed to mention that the marble top was chipped and scratched (they inferred I should have noted in photos) and no mention that the top had been broken in half and poorly repaired (not visible in photos). Neither did they mention the sub top had been replaced and new molding added to cover the new plywood. The back legs were not original and had been poorly attached with nails and glue, leaving gaps at the joints. The front paw feet may or may not be original, but both had been obviously removed and re-attached. All of this was easily seen in person, all of this materially affected the value and would have discouraged me from bidding at all. All of this was easily seen within minutes of the cross-country driver unloading. After back and forth with customer service, I ultimately received a $200 settlement against a restoration cost of $1300. It is discouraging given that the antique industry has been saved from obscurity as direct result of the on-line market place and absentee buyers can only rely on photos and descriptions. When added to the cost is a 30 % house premium plus rising shipping costs ($1, 200 from PA to CA), the accuracy and integrity of condition reports is all the more relevant. The lengthy 'buyer beware' verbiage in Kamelot's fine print does not eliminate the auction house's fiduciary responsibility to disclose what the average person can see with a general visual inspection.

Even better than expected!
The pick up process includes meandering through Philadelphia streets to find the warehouse and down an alleyway to the back lot. Pick up has to be fairly soon after auction ends. But they have very helpful uys to get it from warehouse to van and the office staff are efficient and friendly. Well run operation. Great items too! Love this place.

Should not list Daks Global as Shipper
Myself and many others have been ripped off by Daks Global due to insurance that was allegedly paid for but was not honored when the item was reported as damaged. Kamelot has a disclaimer but continuing to list a known perpetrator of fraud is inexcusable.

Arranging shipping is close to impossible
Trying to arrange shipping was a grueling task. I went through 3 drivers before I got my item picked up. The auction house has extremely strict and ridged rules for pickup and there is no way around. I had a driver that was at the auction house for a pick up, I called and a very robot like lady on the phone kept repeating how I have to go online and reserve a spot in a week or so. The poor driver wasted his time getting there. I finally found someone that was willing to follow all of their rules. Shame, because the table I received after a month trying to arrange shipping was great

Item arrived damaged
I contacted them about the damage-trying to figure out if it was damaged during shipping or something pre-existing. Lindsey instantly got defensive, blaming my shipper-but admitted they had no photos of the item before to cross reference. Then she blamed ME for not asking for a condition report, despite another employee telling me that this kind of damage would've been included in the description. Blame is not the way to handle an issue and I won't be purchasing from them anymore.

Hello! Thanks so much for this feedback. I would have liked to continue our conversation over the phone but you hung up on me. You chose to purchase a 60 + year old trunk without first obtaining a condition report-even though our photos very blatantly depicted condition issues to the bottom of the trunk. You insisted the "damage" came from Kamelot warehouse staff. The reality is this damage was present at the time of purchase. These details would have been disclosed if you had request a condition report. Please see our condition report policy, conveniently located in every, single lot in our catalog: Bidders are obligated to determine their level of interest in and value of the items based solely on their own review. To assist prospective bidders in this endeavor, we offer in person open-house preview days prior to the auction, and also provide written condition reports in response to emailed requests. I hope this provides some clarity.

Warning. Fraudulent
Beware they are not forthcoming with descriptions. Not even a mention of restoration or Severe restorations were not photographed, only good sides of iTems photographed not the damage, several items Not the same materials as described (iron lamps actually brass painted black) painted iron urn on an aluminum base and not mentioned. One iron urn severely cracked and no photos. Broken globe in a lamp and crack not photographed or mentioned. Over 40k spent last month and they can’t even offer a solution. They pass me from person to person confirming they will get back to me. Avoid return phone calls and deny responsibility. The owner left me a message Today he can’t talk he’s in holiday but he will call me back next week After me emailing and calling for over a week and a half to resolve this. I will be Perusing a claim with the Pennsylvania attorney general as to the ethics and over 55 online negative reviews with the same story. I’m actually disappointed live auctioneer doesn’t better vet it’s sellers. No way an honest upfront operation And I am not the first to complain. I will refrain from live auctioneer transactions until this is resolved. JMN

You recently purchased items at our Spring garden auctions. Unfortunately, you neglected to request condition reports or ask for additional pictures for any of the lots you purchased. Our policy, that you agreed to when you signed up to bid, clearly states that all auction items are sold "as is" and the majority of auction items are antiques with inherent condition issues. Garden items in particular, since they are kept outdoors, are particularly vulnerable to condition issues. We have reached out to you via phone and email to discuss this situation but have not yet received your response. We hope to hear back from you soon.

Inaccurate invoice and nobody would reply to my emails or phone messages
My invoice included sales tax even though my resellers tax information is entered into Liveauctioneers. I sent multiple emails and left a phone message and no one ever responded to either form of communication.

Huge warehouse, good descriptions
Kamelot has an enormous warehouse, and they can hold an abundance of items. I'm glad I did go to inspect the ones I wanted, because the photos of the items I bought didn't show ALL of the defects in them. They did show most, though, and I felt like the ones not pictured were still acceptable, so I bid and I'm very happy with the outcome. If I hadn't gone to inspect, I could imagine being annoyed about the defects not shown, but I never spend much without inspecting in person first. As it is I'm very happy with the results and would buy from Kamelot again without concern.

Sold broken item without disclosing it
A lamp sold without wiring is not a lamp. Faulted me for not asking for a condition report. A $400 + commission it is not a garage sale. Buyer beware.

With an electrical item that old, we always suggest rewiring-for your safety-even if the wiring is operational. Damaged the Item and Broke the Shipping Appointment
My item incurred some minor damage at the warehouse and couldn’t be picked up on the scheduled date. These things happen, but Kamelot didn’t tell me or the shipper, who wasted the morning going to pick up an item that wasn’t ready (for which they charged me). Then Kamelot wouldn’t return my call (three calls over two weeks) to confirm the rescheduled pickup date. Unprofessional.

We did not have any time to report this damage prior to your shipper arriving. While we try to answer all phone calls and questions in a timely manner, we have limited staff in the office and, at times, can not immediately facilitate all inquiries.
