Bought a very heavy item and shipping was going to be a bear and expensive, but Kamelot turned me on to a shipper that was already headed in my direction with a crew and I got it delivered very reasonably. I know it was a unique circumstance but in all my years of buying no auction house has ever voluntarily offered assistance with outside shippers besides just providing a list of names. The auction process itself was very professional and the staff very helpful.

Item door was broken off and not noted in pics or in description-PLUS!
When my shipper arrived to pick up my item he had the auction house call me because one of the doors was broken OFF of one of the cabinets. The woman on the phone was very flip and said "Well, since you only paid $100 for them...". "Since I had only paid $100 I was told she couldn't discount the price (I hadn't asked), she could just refund my $100 and I could just not take them. She said they have all of the hardware. I asked her to make sure to send it along in an envelope or something in the cabinet so that I could put things back together when it got here. I had a paid shipper there waiting for my items. I told her to go ahead if HE was comfortable. He indicated it was ok. My shipper kindly sent me a pic of the door which was completely detached, and the cabinet showed damage to the corner as if the door had been ripped off pulling the cabinet joins apart a little. This Auction House has never returned any emails I have sent along the way since I won the lot, never marked my item as paid, and frankly seem disinterested in Customer Service of any kind. REGARDLESS of what I paid for my items 1) the pictures should show the true state of the item. 2) they should return emails. 3) Service industry employees shouldn't be condescending to customers. Period! When you have someone standing at their bay to pick up an item is NOT the time to find out it is BROKEN.

Lamps are a particular gamble since so much could go wrong but this one was beautiful and that is what mattered. It needed complete rewiring and that was my risk-it's done-and installed and looks great. I follow this auctioneer all the time now as I feel I got real value.

Issue with Lot Purchase, No Response from Kamelot
I had inquired as to condition on a lot of 3 items, and received response that there were no issues. When lot was received, one item was damaged. I sent two inquiries to Kamelot, sent pics, and received no response.

If only the auction houses would publish condition reports along with the listings, they wouldn't have to answer thousands of condition report requests. I probably would have bought more steins but they never gave me condition reports and I will not bid unless I know condition.

No Full disclosure of conditions of items on sale
I would not recommend any auction house that does not fully reflect actual conditions of items for sale.

My experiences with multiple purchases at several Kamelot auctions have always been positive and professional. Some smaller auction groups have taught me that is not always the case and that it is good practice to review surveys before bidding on all smaller auction houses.

This is my problem. I bid on a marble bench on line for $1000.+ buyer's premium = $1200. I never saw this piece as it is in upstate New York. I told them, this is a marble piece, I would be happy to pay you when you get the piece to your facility in Philadelphia. as I have to view it. If it gets damages on its way to Philadelphia, that would be a problem. I call almost everyday as I want to see it and pay for it. No one returns calls. What can I do?

The description of the item could have been more detailed. The table I purchased has a stong gloss finish on it that couldn't be seen on the picture and wasn't described in the description.

Kamelot is really nice to work with. The people there are always kind and helpful. It would be easier with an automated payment process. I also admit to being spoiled by auction houses that provide shipping. Sooooo easy, inexpensive and convenient! I am getting turned off by online auctions after being completely ripped off by shippers and now hesitate to purchase from auctions that do not provide shipping or REASONABLE shipping choices. Perhaps places like Kamelot could make arrangements with shippers for good prices in exchange for recommendations. This would certainly be appreciated!

The product did not work once it got home. I was pretty disappointed in the lack of regard for the fact it was indeed broken.
