
Cut Down US Model 1822 (1816 Type II) Percussion Altered Musket
.69 caliber. 35.25" barrel. NSN. Bright finish, iron furniture, walnut stock. Single shot "cone in barrel" percussion alteration of US M1822 flintlock musket altered to shotgun with a shortened stock and barrel, with only the lower barrel band retained. Standard Springfield markings on lock, dated 1824 at tail. Barrel markings largely obliterated by pitting and wear. No ramrod present. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Poor. Rusty bore. Metal moderately oxidized with a mottled gray patina, some surface roughness and areas of pitting. Mechanically functional lock with hammer peened onto the tumbler and no hammer screw. Well worn wood is shortened, sanded and refinished and shows a large number of dings, dents, chips and mars.
