(1898 - 1978) German aircraft designer and manufacturer, responsible for the creation of the Messerschmitt Bf 109, Me 209, and the first jet-powered fighter to enter service: the Messerschmitt Me 262. Great S.P., 7 x 5 in. b/w, a wartime image of the 500th Me-110 to be manufactured, with Messerschmitt and presumably other company notables standing proudly before it. Messerschmitt has signed the bottom of the image in blue ballpoint.The verso indicates that this was a Messerschmitt corporate photograph, and it is further stamped in German 'Secret!'. Tape damage at extreme corners, mounting residue on verso, still very good.
