Union brigadier general killed in action while leading a charge at Kennesaw Mountain. Two items, the first a manuscript D.S. countersigned by future Confederate General JAMES J. ARCHER (1817-1864) Brigadier General and colonel of the 5th Texas in Hood's Brigade, fought at Antietam, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg where he was captured,1p. legal folio, ‘Camp on Colville River’, Oct. 31, 1859, an ‘Abstract of Provisions sold to Officers in the field with Escort to N. W. B. Commission during the month of October 1859…’ on blue letterhead and listing foodstuffs such as beef, coffee, molasses, potatoes, etc. Signed by each at conclusion and in very good condition. WITH: a partly-printed D.S. signer by Harker as 2nd Lieutenant 9th Infantry, 1p. oblong legal folio, May 1859, a monthly summary statement of cash received. Very good. Two pieces.
