(1803-1889) American engineer and designer of the Union's MONITOR and the first screw-powered vessel. War-date A.L.S. 1p. 4to., New York, Jan. 9, 1864, to James A. Robinson, in part: ‘…I have no objection to the proposed application for a patent for improvements made by Gregory, and only hope that in case he should succeed, that it may prove of benefit to yourself and Mr. Kitchins…’. Inlaid at top and bottom margins, disbound with spindle holes at left margin, very good.
