(1824 - 1907) Confederate brigadier general of the 51st Alabama, he fought at Bull Run and Chickamauga, and harassed Sherman from Atlanta to Savannah. War-date partly-printed D.S., 1p. large oblong folio, Stewart’s Creek, TN, Nov. 20, 1862, a morning report for the 1st Regiment Alabama Partisans, listing the number of officers and men present for duty, sick, absent, etc., across nine companies. Signed ‘Jno. T. Morgan’ in black ink at the conclusion, adding his contemporary rank ‘Col’, and with an adjutant countersigning. Shows original vertical mailing folds, otherwise in fine overall condition.
