Description
(1929 - 1994) First Lady and wife of John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States. A great, most evocative signed piece, a 5.25 x 3.25 in., [n.p., n.d., ca. 1964] white card prepared for numismatists and imprinted with her late husband's most famous quotation. It reads in full: 'JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY 1917-1963 '...and so my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.' The card bears a cut-out into which is placed a 1964 Kennedy half dollar. Mrs. Kennedy signed the card in blue ink beneath her late husband's quotation. Set into a clear plastic holder, matted with a copy of a sketch of JFK in profile, all set into a silvered wood frame. The Kennedy half dollar was first minted in early 1964.
