ca. 1900, 140 x 120 cm, South Persia, Kerman

A small-format Afshar woven in a floral design. Two confronting vases with a flowering shrub growing from each are placed on the central axis of the midnight blue field. Small shrubs and blossoms adorn the corner sections. The design has been conceived in mirror image. The angular geometric style of drawing is a typical Afshar feature. Fine weave, very good quality wool.
