Length:87cm(34.25in) Width:41.5cm(16.34in)This is an exquisite fine-line painting of a beauty by Zhang Daqian. The lady leans against a rock amid a lotus pond, with broad lotus leaves and budding flowers surrounding her. Her facial features are delicately rendered with gentle and refined expression. Her hair and ornate hair ornaments are depicted meticulously. She wears a light ochre robe with bright blue lapel, and layered skirt decorated with pale purple scroll patterns. Smooth outline lines follow the classic Chinese line-drawing tradition, while colours are elegant and restrained. A poetic inscription is written on the upper right, dated Gengchen, signed Zhang Daqian, with two red seals. Merging meticulous craftsmanship and literate charm, the lotus scenery sets off the serene grace of the lady. Original antique mounting with natural age toning, in good condition.
