Always a fun place to bid.

A low review without explanation, I will add some detail. Mr. Wei , bidder from China, purchased a big lot of Chinese art catalogues from us in June, lot # 15th, this lot is still sitting here, we have stored it without charge. Despite many attempts to get this buyer to contact us with shipping instructions, we are still holding on to this lot, all I need is an email with shipping instructions. Maybe it's not possible for the client to contact a shipper? Maybe he or she could not contact us with a request for assistance? We would be more than happy to assist with various shipping options. Note that the inability to arrange shipping does not reflect on our ability to run auctions. Hudson Valley Auctioneers

Very nice buying experience!
This was my first time doing business with them. I'm a buyer from Pittsburgh but have friends in NYC so the b distance didn't bother me. The auction house is located in the picturesque town of Beacon. Be prepared to take pics! The owner was very friendly and located my items very quickly. I will be buying from him again.

Good transaction, very communicative guys. Will do business again.
I arranged to pick up in person and my communication thread was very timely. They called me with specifics and to consult on bad weather contingency plans. Only item that surprised me was one of the lead crystal ink wells had a crack/chip which wasn’t clearly visible in photos or disclosed but the lot was priced accordingly for that fault. Will def be looking for future auctions from this house.
