
US Model 1842 Springfield Rifled Musket Dated 1847

.69 caliber. 42" barrel with three flat, spring retained barrel bands. NSN. Bright finish, walnut stock. Single shot percussion musket upgraded by rifling the bore with no rear sight, brass blade front sight, sling swivels and a full length trumpet head ramrod with the face correctly dished for elongated round ball ammunition. Standard lock markings, dated 1847 at tail. Breech plug tang dated 1847 as well with standard proofs at breech. Counterpane with two weak cartouches. {ANTIQUE}

Condition
Good. Bore moderately oxidized with decent rifling. Metal moderately oxidized with a dull gray patina and evenly distributed pinpricking. Mechanically functional lock. Wood with moderate wear, sanded and showing scattered bumps, dings and mars.
