
Description
(1825-1893) Confederate brigadier general who led a brigade through the Atlanta Campaign and was captured at Franklin, Tenn. He was also captured at Ft. Donelson while a colonel. Bold signature ‘Wm. A. Quarles’ in black ink on a 3.75 x 2.25 in. card, adding his rank ‘Maj. Genl C. S. A.’ and ‘ P. O. Clarksville Tenn.’ Mildly toned, shows mounting remnants on the verso, otherwise in very good to fine condition overall.
