The outer wrapper label reads “Shen?Zhou fine vertical scroll *Qiu?Shan?Xing?Le?Tu, Sanxitang”. The upper gold?sprinkled title panel carries large imperial calligraphy “Qiu?Shan?Xing?Le?Tu”, stamped with multiple imperial?collection seals. Painted on aged silk, it represents Wu?School heavy?colour landscape. Rocks and mountains are richly rendered in blue?and?green pigments. Steep layered peaks are wrapped in drifting clouds. Ancient trees interspersed with red leaves fully evoke autumn atmosphere. Pavilions, waterside terraces and cottages nestle among valleys. Small boats float over the lake, tiny human figures scatter amid mountains and buildings, depicting literati enjoying autumn mountain sightseeing. Numerous imperial poems and dynastic imperial?collection seals cover the scroll. It adopts grand?full composition with splendid?antique colouring. Dense?varied scenes are well?organised, combining the magnificence of blue?and?green landscape with literati?art sentiment of Wu?School, being a rare fine blue?and?green work by Shen?Zhou
