(1840 - 1864) Stonewall Jackson's youngest staff member and aide whom it is said Jackson loved like a son, killed a few days short of his 24th birthday while trying to rally the troops at Fisher's Hill. Very rare war-date signature with rank: 'A. S. Pendleton Lt. Col. & A.A.G.' cut from a document. The signature is partially toned, probably from tape applied across the top, though it is impossible to determine if the tape has been removed, thus the signature is sold as is but still guaranteed authentic. Matted with a copy of a carte de visite photograph of the young soldier and set into a gilt wood frame.
