(1816 - 1862) Confederate brigadier general who was severely wounded at the battle of Wilson's Creek. He died two weeks after again being wounded at the battle of Pea Ridge. Rare Partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong 12mo., Chillicothe, Mo., Feb. 23, 1861, a State Bank of Missouri sight draft in the amount of $262.32 made payable to 'E. H. Benneat[?]', signed by Slack and two others at bottom. Matted with a portrait and set into a fine wood frame. Fine.
