Description
A robust and tactile lithic tool fashioned from a dense, fine-grained river stone. Shows a nice uniform shape, with the terminal ends smoothed through repetitive pounding or grinding. In the center it has a great bit of material removed, about 2” x 2”, likely a use fracture from the time period. Whether utilized as a hammerstone for lithic reduction or a pestle for processing organic materials, the stone possesses a heavy, balanced feel in the hand. Provenance of private collection, San Francisco. We guarantee every item as described, and have 2-3 experts look at each item to come to a consensus. Please feel free to reach out at anytime with any questions, comments, concerns or issues. We ship in house and do what we can to ensure the shipping costs are as reasonable as possible.
