World War Two Bombing Squadron 20 (VB-20) squadron patch. The squadron was redesignated as Bombing Squadron Twenty (VB-20) on October 15, 1943. The patch is schiffli embroidery. Measures 3.75" x 4". The insignia was approved by Office of Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) on December 9, 1943. During WW2, the squadron served on the USS Enterprise and USS Lexington. They were equipped with Curtiss SB2C Helldivers and were involved on attacks in the Bonin Islands, Palau, Okinawa, Formosa, and Luzon, playing a key role in the Battle for Leyte Gulf in the Philippine Islands. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
