World War Two U.S. Navy VF-29 squadron patch. The patch is schiffli embroidery on wool. Measures 4.375" x 3.75". Established as VGF-29 on July 18, 1942 and redesignated as VF-29 on March 1, 1943. This squadron served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Originally deployed with the USS Santee (ACV-29) in 1942 for Operation Torch (North Africa), the squadron later reformed and served with USS Cabot (CVL-28) in 1944–1945, supporting missions against the Philippines, Formosa, and the Japanese home islands. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
